Interview With our star Milica Dabovic

ISM: How did you start to play basketball?

Milica Dabovic: It is enough to say that my father is a basketball coach and the oldest sister Jelica who played basketball was my idol....

ISM: When you came to play for Vojvodina from Novi Sad your career completely changed?

Milica Dabovic: Yes...my five minutes came. Till now it is my biggest personal success in career-the best shooter in Europe league and the best stealer of the balls and transfer in one of the biggest and best clubs in Europe Ekaterinburg UGMK.

ISM: Did you surprise when the one of the best organized and the richest club in Europe invited you?

Milica Dabovic: Till that time i made very good results so i wasn’t surprised at all. I think that i was ready enough and mature to make a bigger step in my career.

ISM: How did you manage there and what is the feeling when you from our league suddenly start to play with and against the best players of the world?

Milica Dabovic: I just knew what was expecting me…i received the challenge and with lot of faith in myself, a lot of work and support of my parents i passed all the troubles i had during that time.

ISM: You said me a lot of times that female basketball is very popular in Russia, tell us something interesting to confirm that.

Milica Dabovic: I could write about that a lot… The fact that in gym with 6000 seats you couldn’t find a free space to sit tells you everything…I can tell you some special impressions which made my fans( because of them i was having a pain in my hand-they were waiting my auto gram for hours on -40,waitig to kiss my hand and waiting to give me some presents.

ISM: After two seasons in Russia also the third year you will play for Russian team, this time for Spartak from Moscow?

Milica Dabovic: I want to make a success in my career, and that’s what i’m doing. Spartak is the winner of Fiba Cup last year and that is the best solution for me.

ISM: We know that a lot of the best European clubs wanted to engage you, why did you decide Spartak?

Milica Dabovic: Just i said before the team won Fiba Cap last year, and also participates in Euro League-that’s the main reason of my transfer, their work is on the high level and that is what i need for this season. I can also tell that the conditions are very good and i adore Moscow!

ISM: We know that you are very responsible player probably you have some purposes to make?

Milica Dabovic: Yes i have a lot purposes in my life, one of them, the most important for me, is to become the basketball trainer, start to work like my father, be like him.

ISM: Do you see yourself one day in WNBA and do you feel that you can successfully get on with the best players of the world on that position?

Milica Dabovic: I already had chance to try that,but i think that my time is coming! You will see me in WNBA when the right time comes because i feel and i know that i can get on with everybody.

ISM: Is there in family somebody who could replace you and somebody who could even be a better player then you are?

Milica Dabovic: Nobody can replace me hehe. The only person who can be better than me is my younger sister Ana.

ISM: Many experts agree that Ana is really one of the best potentials on the position she is playing. You know her since her first basketball steps, what was she like, where is she now and what is the limit of her basketball possibilities?

Milica Dabovic: I know her since she was taking balls for me and at the same time thinking how to be better than me and my sister Jelica…she is doing her best now,she is with father and he want let her go until she is ready, that’s why i ‘m with her and i’m waiting her to start to play with her because she is on the good way.

Milica Dabovic: I didn’t hear nothing bad about them and i said Lets try hehe. I was convinced that they are right people for me…and now i know that i didn’t make a mistake. Thanks

ISM: Hehe…nice tell me now, is everything like you planed?

Milica Dabovic: Yes and i think that will last for a long time.
