Interview with Aleksandra Vujovic

An interview with Aleksandra Vujovic, ex player of BC "Buducnost" - Podgorica and NİS-Gas "Vojvodina" Novi Sad both from Serbia and Crna Gora who is playing now for BC "Mercede Basket" team from Alghero - Sardegna- Italy. We asked Aleksandra about her new club, Italian basketball, food, her impressions and agency that she is a member now...
ISM: Who is Aleksandra and how did you start to play basketball?
Aleksandra: My name is Aleksandra Vujovic, I am 24 years old.I started playing basketball in Niksic, team called "Rolling"in 1992. As time was passing by I realized that basketball was what I liked and what I wanted to go for,so that's how my professional career begins.Until year of 1999. I have played in Niksic,then one year I spent in Podgorica in "Buducnost",after that three years of playing in Novi Sad in "Vojvodina" and today I play in Italy.
ISM: Tell us how you continue your career in Italy?
Aleksandra: After a pretty well played seasons in Novi Sad, I decided to try myself abroad and apart from very tempting offers and with help of my manager, I made a dicision for Italy...
ISM: What are your impressions of your new team and Italian basketball league?
Aleksandra: I play in "MERCEDE BASKET", in Sardinia. It is a new team in leage, young and perspective crue,but still very enexperienced in first leage of Italy and with ambitions,above all, to stay there,in Serie A.For the time being I am very satisfied with my games and games of my team, with cosideration that italian leage is one of the best female leages in Europe... ISM: It's yours first time to play professionally out of our country,does the coach want from you something different than coaches in SiCG?
Aleksandra: As for expectations for me, every coach is same... ha, ha... I am primary expected to play good defence and to score at least 20 points if possible... ha, ha... I'm kidding... but there's also truth in what I said because as an intenational player I have a bigger responsibility in team...
ISM: Is the system of practicing same in Italy as in SiCG and if it is not where are the differences?
Aleksandra: System of training is similar in both and SCG and Italy, practice twice a day, very little time for spree, pure professionalism... ha...
ISM: Very good players from Russia, SiCG, Brasil and WNBA are playing on your position almost in all other teams, what are your thoughts and do you think you will play successfully against them?
Aleksandra: I think I can improve myself as a player but it doesn't mean I can't cope with the best players in Europe or in WNBA in my position of course... I'm a bit modest...
ISM: Italian language, difficult or are you yet learning slowly?
Aleksandra: My studing of italian is progressing very quickly, it's not very difficult, it's very melodic and one of the most beautifull according to me of course... ISM: What are your plains for the future when we are talking about basketball?
Aleksandra: My plan is to continue the career abroad,of course to prove myself in best leages and to reach my maximum, because I am still far from what I am capable of and what my possibilities are of course...
ISM: You play on the team with Milka Bjelica, who's also playing the first year in Italy, how do you spend time when you are not flying and practicing?
Aleksandra: In my spare time I mostly go out with my team mate Milka to some bar or restorant, sometimes we go to a night club, but not very often coz we don't have much spare time...
ISM: What you are in horoscope and what is the preference of your symbol?
Aleksandra: My astrological sign is cancer, subsign lion... very emotional, romatic, sensitive person but the caracteristics of my subsighn do not allow to express myself that way,| have doze of agressivness, I am very temperament, and sometimes too nervous... I have a constant fight between those two signs... ha... VERY HARD TO EXPLAIN...
ISM: Your favorite food?
Aleksandra: I am a big gourmant, but Im very fond of italian specialties, such as pasta, different kinds of pizzas... and that's one of the reasons of my staying in Italy, isn't it???
ISM: Which kind of music you are listening?
Aleksandra: I listen to almost every kind of music, exept for classic and rock... and the rest depends on the occasion and of course on my mood at the moment... ISM: Who is your favorite sportsman, singer and movie star?
Aleksandra: My favorite sportist - let it be a basketball player, german national player and the NBA player Dirk Nowicky .
Favorite pop star-there are many,but if you are interested in international pop star that is Sean Paul
Favorite actor - many of them too, but of course Nicolas Cage, Brus Willis... as for actresses: Julia Roberts, Sandra Bulock, Meg Ryan...
ISM: At the end tell us something about "Intenational Sports Management" the agency that is representing you and that you are the member of?
Aleksandra: Abote the agency I think only the best, that's why I am it's member. So far we act great, every mutual agreemant is done correctly and if we keep on like this I don't see why should I change it... BUT YOU NEVER KNOW... HA... HA... JOKE...
